As pianist and composer he created the music for Vivace.

His music provides the perfect backdrop for the spectacular performances by the artists in the show using a chamber orchestra and a counter tenor.

His compositions are both modern and traditional, consonant and dissonant, combining classical, jazz and pop elements to create totally new colours.

His catchy melodies full of humour, vitality and excitement soothe both spirit and soul while arousing the listeners curiosity.

Tal Balshai also arranges the works of well-known composers. His sometimes reckless approach is never disrespectfull. Whether it is Beethoven turned into a bossa nova or Ravels Bolero scored for a piano quintet, the man has courage and he understands his craft.

Tal Balshai was born in Jerusalem in 1969. He studied classical and jazz piano in Tel Aviv and Berlin where he also studied composition and orchestration. Since completing his studies he has worked as a composer, arranger, musical director and pianist in many theatre, radio and film productions. Musical highlights in his career were performances with Nigel Kennedy, Roy Hargrove and the Berlin Philharmonic.
