Andreas Wessels, one of the
most innovative juggling artists of our time, has, since
he was 15, zealously devoted himself to the “King’s
discipline” of juggling – juggling with soccer-sized
balls. When he keeps 6 of them in the air and at the
same time jumps rope, it seems as if gravity has ceased
to exist. But Wessels doesn’t just juggle the balls:
he dances with them. With exactingly precise ball-handling,
the charismatic artist and the objects seem to melt
into one.

The native of Berlin has been
honored at renowned festivals in places as diverse as
China, Japan and France. It is mesmerizing to see the
variety of objects he brings to life and how his artistry
extends from avant-garde to comedy.
When one sees Wessels surrounded
by dancing oil cans and simultaneously juggling five
burning torches while standing in a pool of gasoline,
one knows that this man is unique in the world of flying
objects.
